This module sat in an interesting space. It was clearly designed to contrast with 303, the larger module running alongside it this semester, and that contrast was felt throughout. It was more playful, less formal, and took itself less seriously as a brief. That did not mean I took it less seriously. The same thinking and principles I would bring to any module were applied here, the outcomes just had a different register.

That said, it did cause some frustration at times. There were moments where I felt I was giving a level of consideration to things that did not necessarily demand it. With the micro interactions especially, some felt genuinely deserving of that depth while others felt more minimal by nature. There is always a justification to be found, it is just a question of how much weight to give it.

I enjoyed the Future Living brief significantly more than the micro animations, and looking back they pair well together in a way I did not fully appreciate while doing them. The macro scale of Future Living got the thinking moving, and from there my instinct for micro interactions within a product started to develop more naturally. What I am most grateful for is not any specific outcome but what the module pushed me to do. It introduced tools and workflows I would not have reached for otherwise, and those skills have genuinely stuck. Perhaps the most unexpected outcome was that the work done here fed directly back into 303. Two modules that are deliberately juxtaposed ended up informing each other, which I found more interesting than either brief in isolation.

Overall it was a solid module. I wish I had given certain micro interactions more time and I think the ecosystem I chose for them, a finance platform, was not the ideal context for that kind of playfulness. Somewhere that naturally invites more joy would have been a better fit. But I am happy with what came out of it and more importantly I am leaving it with a set of skills and a way of working that I am genuinely excited to take forward.
