We’ve been tasked with creating a web page for an extract of “The Street of Crocodiles”. We have spent the last few weeks in class learning about HTML and CSS so it is a good opportunity to out these skills to use.
I started by transferring the extract text over to a text document so I could begin to mark it up and put it into HTML.

For the design of my page i chose to keep it relevant to the content so I decided to base it on the original book cover for The Street of Crocodiles.
I really like both the type and colours used on this cover and I feel it would come across as a very unique web page that represents the text just how the first edition of the book did.
Something about emulating this cover to a webpage really speaks to me almost as though Schulz’s work transcends medium.

I wanted to find typefaces which I felt conveyed what the first edition book cover did. For my heading I’ll be using a Script font, perhaps something more subtle, and for my main body text ill be using a Serif as shown in the cover above.
After doing some research I settled on two fonts I think work very well for this purpose. For my headings I will be using “Bonbance” and for my body text I will be using “LT Museum”

I think these two will pair well and provide a strong contrast between headings and body texts whilst maintaining the theme of the first edition.
I wanted to be sure of my choice of colours and my colour hierarchy before starting any of the design process. Ill be using the colours from the books cover but I think I will need more than just the 3 colours. After playing around in figma I settled on a colour scheme I was quite fond of and that I thought looked good paired with the fonts I have chosen
