Today marked the beginning of our second semester. We started by revising our values and outlining some key aspects of our studies such as attendance, rubrics and how to use blackboard and notion.
For this module we have Daniel, who is also our course director. It is always exciting to engage with new people in a learning environment and it will be interesting to see how Daniels class will differ from the previous semester.
In this module we will be designing a brand. In doing so we will be establishing a set of brand guidelines and developing a brand identity. From here we will then create a UX teardown, which is looking at an established product and breaking down what works and what doesn’t in order to develop an improved UX design. We will then create a brand landing page following the UX teardown using what we learnt from other brands.
Daniel stated that within this module there should be an emphasis on idea generation. This means within our body of work we should be displaying an array of ideas and showing them within our work, to show what was successful and what wasn’t.
Daniel introduced us to a resource called BrandNew. It is a kind of newsletter that posts about updates within the branding world such as rebrands or trending styles within branding.
