Put shortly content is information presented. This varies from text, images, icons and even interactions. Content is constantly being produced as everyone has the ability to generate it with todays technology.
We were introduced to Jefferey Zeldman, revered as the man who created the standard of web design. Before Zeldman web design was approached by any and every angle with no agreed standard of design. This standard for web design is a great example of content design in a more contemporary lens. We need to manage content so it can be digested properly and actually inform its users.
You can see Zeldman’s blog site below.
Content must be appropriate for the scenario in which it is to be used. As mentioned before in regards to structure it is vital that content is digestable. If the content isnt approapriate for how it is presented this will impact the usability greatly. For example you might encounter some issues trying to access and write emails using a smart watch interface. Content that would be more appropriate for a smart watch interface would include things such as data models and trackers that require little interaction in comparison to other types of content.

We were tasked with creating a mind map of all relevant areas we could explore with a smart watch concept.
It was a straight forward enough task that enabled us to visualise the different approaches we could take with this project. Majority of our branches tended to sway toward health and fitness as expected with a smartwatch application.
I found this interesting as it felt it made those industries feel very tired in terms of exploration so very early on I am looking more toward productivity related ideas for my application.

We then discussed and played with the idea of alogical connections. This is where we connect ideas that might typically not be considered related or even compatible. This was mostly a thinking exercise for us to consider new ideas but it was fun none the less. I found it quite difficult to actually find productive concepts using ideas that juxtapose one another but I think I foucsed a little to much on extremes. With this in mind I tried to tone it down a little
We were then to pitch one of our alogical connections. I pitched an idea for a orginisational personal assistant. This would be a speculative design as I think it would require some artificial intelligence to actually function. Essentially the watch face would just be a little face, with eyes a nose and a mouth. You would voice prompt it to jot down ideas or to log important dates in your calender.
