This week we looked at colour and brand guidelines.


Colour Applications

We started by taking a look at the different ‘types’ of colour and their application.

CMYK - For Print

RGB - For screen

Pantone - For Print, consistency.

RAL - For paint, office walls etc.

Hexadecimal - RGB form.

Colour Psychology

Each colour connotes different emotions amongst different cultures. It is important to ensure that the colour you choose for a brand reflects the brands purpose and values. Some examples of what kind of emotions and adjectives these colours can evoke are:

Red - Energy, Passionate, Confidence and Bold.

Blue - Aware, Secure, Open and Trust.

Green - Growth, Harmony, Stable and Positivity.

Yellow - Optimism, Fun, Logical and Attentive.

Orange - Freedom, Social, Warmth and Impulse.

Purple - Distinguished, Creative, Deep and Modesty.
