Overview

Week 6 was dedicated to the mid-semester review in which each group presented their progress to the class. Rather than duplicating what is already documented in detail, this week is covered fully in the Midpoint Review section of the project notes, which includes the presentation structure, my responsibility for presenting the possible directions, the design approach I pitched to the group, and a full reflection on how the session went.

Reflection

Looking back at where the project is at week 6 compared to where it started, the progress felt significant. We had moved from a broad and somewhat daunting brief through desk research, a mentor interview and a series of research deliverables to a point where we could stand in front of the class and present three credible and evidence backed directions. The mid-semester review was the first real moment of external accountability on the project and it was a useful one. Having to articulate the work clearly to an audience outside the group sharpened our thinking and gave us a much clearer sense of where the strongest opportunity lay. By the end of that session the direction was not yet confirmed but it was becoming obvious which way we were heading.
